World of Mystery

Image
Across the seas, there is a land of uncharted jungles, perilous rivers, and towering mountains. This is a place where you can explore unknown lands, themed to exploration of the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth Centuries. This area is split into three sub-areas, each one with a different theme. Connecting to Marker Square and Mystic Bazaar is a castaway community on a jungle island. A lot of the buildings of the sub-area are made from salvaged ships and natural things like wood and leaves. On hot days, you can soak up by the Leaky Boiler Splash Zone, a splash pad made of ship parts, most notably boilers. This is found just as you enter the area from the bridge. Between the sign is the Castaway Cook-off Restaurant and the S.O.S. Souvenirs shop. On the right is Shipwreck Steakhouse, another restaurant. On the left is Camp Meyer, an interactive camp and tree house based off of the real Camp Meyer from the film Meyer Island . This part connects to Marker Square. To the right of th...

Mystic Bazaar

Image
In the middle of a great lake sits an island with a fortified Fifteenth Century Arabian city, complete with a massive palace, the centerpiece of the park, Shahryar's Palace. Based off the original Marker film, Arabian Nights, this also draws inspiration from the Arab character in Marker's Half Magic. This area connects to all the other areas in the park, making moving from place to place easy. From behind the stage in Marker Square, you can cross a bridge into the area, which takes you to the Traders Market, a big collection of stands where snacks, merchandise, and more is sold. In front of the Palace is the Magic Fountain, which preforms water shows from time to time. Behind that are steps and your entry into Shahryar's Palace, where you can explore the mysteries of the palace. On the right of the entry to the bazaar are dining and shopping experiences in Sinbad's Sailor Goods, Ali Baba Food Court, and Dhow Diner, along with the bridge to World of Yesterday. Continui...

Marker Square

Image
There's always something happening in Marker Square. Serving as the entrance to the park, this is an area based off of the big American cities of the Roaring Twenties. Taking inspiration from cities like New York and Chicago, the area has a bunch of tall buildings, all between two and eight stories high, along with a bunch of streets with names referring to what can be found there. There is also a bunch of fictional businesses named after people who helped production in the park. Once you enter through the park's main gates, you will emerge into a small area where a big hill with the City Hall sits, where you can get help and services. Cut into the flesh of the hills are twin tunnels going into the park. Both tunnels are lined with posters advertising the attractions on both sides.  There are three roads when you come through. On the left is Hall Boulevard, on the right is Arrington way, and in the middle is the Main Street, where you can get your first glimpse of Shahryar...

Markerland Park: an inroduction

Image
Welcome to a wonderful world of magic, adventure, and mystery. Here, you can explore exotic lands, travel through time, and live through enchanting stories, all in one day. Come on into this fully immersive world, where you'll embark on one amazing journey after another, and the memories will last a lifetime. I've made many changes to make this more original. I changed all of the areas with a "land" suffix to world of ____ to make it less like Disney. I've made my entrance street a city, and I've decided to give the palace its own area rather than have it as part of one of the other areas. Not just that, but that area connects all the other areas. I even fused two of the areas together to create one. Areas of Markerland: Marker Square Mystic Bazaar World of Mystery Atlantic Road World of Legends World of Rivers World of Yesterday Each of these areas and their attractions, restaurants, shops, and entertainment will be explained through more blog posts.

The Markerland Resort: an Introduction

Image
Hello everyone. I am MGM, not Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer, a different MGM. This here is a blog about my theme park resort, Markerland. This is my dream park, something I've been working on for a long time. Although the location isn't set in stone yet, I'm considering having it in San Diego, the city you see in the top picture. Now just a little history, I started conceiving the idea when I was 9 or 10, even drew a Disneyland-like map of it. My main motivation was Disneyland, and its map was very similar to it. The main premise was that the park would be like Disney, but instead of movies, all of the rides would be based on video games. I had eight lands, which were actually very similar to Disneyland. There was Main Entrance Street, basically the area you walk in from, Worldland, an area themed to places all around the world, Riverland, an area themed to the country and the wild west, Magmaland, an area themed to jungle exploration, Los Vegas Road, themed to Las Vegas, Animal Av...
