World of Mystery

 

Across the seas, there is a land of uncharted jungles, perilous rivers, and towering mountains. This is a place where you can explore unknown lands, themed to exploration of the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth Centuries. This area is split into three sub-areas, each one with a different theme.

Connecting to Marker Square and Mystic Bazaar is a castaway community on a jungle island. A lot of the buildings of the sub-area are made from salvaged ships and natural things like wood and leaves. On hot days, you can soak up by the Leaky Boiler Splash Zone, a splash pad made of ship parts, most notably boilers. This is found just as you enter the area from the bridge. Between the sign is the Castaway Cook-off Restaurant and the S.O.S. Souvenirs shop. On the right is Shipwreck Steakhouse, another restaurant. On the left is Camp Meyer, an interactive camp and tree house based off of the real Camp Meyer from the film Meyer Island. This part connects to Marker Square. To the right of the gift shop is a restaurant called Survivor's Pantry and the Shipwreck Theater where Typhoon: Legend of the Stormmaker's Sword, a stunt show spectacular where a band of English explorers washed up on an island fight to keep a mythical weapon away from a society of Austrian mercenaries in pre-WWI Earth. Behind the splash pad is a bridge to an island, where Smoke Belcher BBQ is.

On another side of a bridge of that island is the largest sub-area in World of Mystery, a Latin American sub-area complete with a Mexican village, a Mayan archaeological site, and some Inca ruins. On the left of the entrance to the sub-area is El Puesto Comercial de Yucatan, which sells a bunch of Mexico-themed gifts, and on the right is Franco's del Toro Cantina, which serves Mexican food. Nearby the cantina is La Fiesta se Detiene, which sells festive souvenirs. Near that is a walk-through attraction where you get to see different types of Mexican arts called Escaparate de Arte Popular. Across from that is Mercado de Pueblo, a market to buy food and gifts. Near a fountain in the middle of the village is where the Village Square Mariachi Band plays.

On a bridge going out of the village to the left of the fountain, you go into the jungle, heading into an archaeology site within a group of ancient Inca and Mayan ruins. Amazon Outpost serves as a shop in a wooden explorer's cabin, selling exploration-themed accessories. Nearby is The Temple of Food, a restaurant inside a Mayan pyramid. Nearby are three attractions. Moctezuma City Ruins is an interactive exploration area where kids and adults can explore Mayan ruins and solve a mystery, on where the ancient treasure of the ruins is hidden and why the ruins are cursed. Nearby the ruins is an animatronic show The Magic Garden, where inside an indoor garden full of Mayan artifacts, talking animals and living statues, alongside some characters from Mesoamerican mythology, put on a show for the audience. Across the bridge are some Inca ruins, where the restaurant The Lucky Llama Cantina is. This is also where the area's biggest attraction, Adventure Andes, a roller coaster-log flume hybrid where you journey through the Andean mountains looking for an ancient Inca idol, ending with a 6-story splashdown. On the right of the entrance to the attraction is a locker house, because it is certain that you will get wet, and to the left of the entrance is Machu Picchu Merchandise, a gift shop containing Adventure Andes-themed clothing, toys, and other accessories.

The last sub-area in World of Mystery is themed around an African village in the colonial era. The buildings are traditionally African, although there are small parts with British architecture. This sub-area borders the other two, but it also borders Atlantic Road.

Across the bridge from the Mexican village, you will see jungle alongside a small shack, Hungry Hyena Snack Stand. Continue walking down, water on your right and jungle on your left, and you will come across the place where the Okwesiko Drummers play. Nearby is a restaurant and a shop: the Baboon Buffet and Tanzania Traders. Further along the road and towards the connection to the castaway sub-area is Shuri's African Store, where you can buy Africa-themed merchandise. Turn left and you can go down the beach, where some African fishing vessels are parked. You will go up to Baobab Bites, a quick service restaurant. Go straight and you will go into Atlantic Road. Go left and you will go down the road to an area with late Victorian British design. Here is where Dressed for Adventure, a clothing store, and Jungle River Expedition, a mobile boat ride where you wield squirt guns and go deep into the Congo River in search of a missing adventurer named Professor Bold. This area connects with both the jungle part near Baboon Buffet and the colonial village past Baobab Bites, which connects to Atlantic Road as well.
